About

My Story
I did not set out to write a book. I was trying to survive what was happening.
This book began in the journals I have kept since I was a teenager — pages that followed me through marriage, motherhood, teaching science, and years in the fire service as a firefighter and paramedic.
When my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I kept writing. Through the months of caregiving, the final days, and the quiet that followed, I wrote for my sanity. My work had taught me how to stand steady in emergencies. Grief asked something different of me.
The Rhythm of Grief is the story of that life — before, during, and after loss.
